KENMA WITH A FIRST YEAR S/O HE MEETS THROUGH HINATA

you’ve been friends with hinata since your first day of middle school when you got sat next to the excitable volleyballer 

you both ended up attending karasuno high much to his delight

when he’s not with his volleyball team he’s with you telling you everything about it since you don’t play the sport yourself 

you know all the rules and basics by now by attending enough of his practices and games

so hinata has just come back from the training camp that he attended in tokyo

he is telling you all about the new techniques and he’s worked on and all the new people he’s met

“there was this biiiggg third year! he’s captain of fukurodani and one of the top 4 aces in japan!!”

“uh huh”

“and his friend was captain of the rival team we want to play in nationals, another big third year with weird bed hair!”

“sounds like you met a lot of new friends”

“yup! but one of my new favourite friends is the setter of the team we want to play in nationals, his name is kenma, he’s a second year and he’s super quiet but he’s a real good player!”

hinata shows you a picture he took with this kenma 

there next to one of your closest friends stood a boy with long blonde hair, his dark roots showing but somehow it made his whole look all the more attractive, golden feline eyes and a gentle shy smile as he looked up at the camera.

now, while you’re thinking about how cute kenma is, hinata is actually watching you

you see, unbeknownst to you, the little middle blocker had mentioned you on several occasions to his new friend

something about kenma made hinata think of you while he was in tokyo

so he felt the need to talk all about you to him to which kenma listened to intently 

so there’s a practice match against nekoma coming up

obviously you go because you want to support your friend

you literally forget all about kenma and how he plays for nekoma

honestly hinata tells you all about every single new friend he meets wherever he goes

so it’s hard to keep track of who is who and where everyone comes from

but the picture of kenma comes flashing back when you see him out on the court

hinata wasn’t lying

he was a good player

he seems like he isn’t that into it but you can tell he’s calculating his moves to be precise 

very much a contrasting character compared to the rest of his outgoing team

nekoma end up winning by one set but it’s only a friendly practice match so all is well

you go down to congratulate hinata and the rest of the team

and hinata is there with kenma chatting happily while the shy setter is smiling and nodding slightly 

you make your way over to hinata and he notices you and his smile beams even brighter

“kenma look! this is y/n the friend i told you all about! isn’t she pretty?!”

you’re blushing and so is kenma 

brief introductions are done between the two of you and before you know it hinata is off to go and annoy kageyama 

you’re left there standing with the rivalling team’s setter

at first the atmosphere is awkward but kenma actually speaks up first

“so... you’re friends with shoyo he's told me a lot about you”

“all good things i hope”

kenma lets out a small smile and your heart flutters slightly

“all good things”

you and kenma actually have a pretty good conversation from there and end up exchanging social handles

from there your friendship begins properly

late night texting 

kenma even convinces you to indulge in a few games he himself plays

kuroo notices kenma has been smiling at his phone more lately

“new game?”

you notice kenma is online

when is he not online?

his gates are usually open around these hours for people selling turnips or whatever 

so you make your way over to kenma’s island and his little character is waiting fro you outside the airport

then he calls you over the phone to which you answer

the two of you are just casually talking and gently laughing with each other until kenma speaks up

“follow me”

he says quietly through the phone 

so your little animal crossing characters and running around the screen until kenma leads you to a patch of gold roses

at the start of the day kenma is so nervous  

but you make him feel so comfortable the nerves wash away

but anyways y’all are thriving playing your games 

kenma isn't huge on pda but he does acknowledge the fact you don’t get to see each other too often so he will be open to cuddling 

you’re resting your head on his shoulder while you play though

nothing to crazy you guys are taking it slow after all

your aunt lives in tokyo so you’ll be staying with her for the night

so neither of you have to worry about weirdos on the train at night 

so it gets to about 10:45 and you and kenma decide to call it a night

after that date there are many more to come

the nekoma team love you

they’re so happy their precious kenma has finally found someone outside of volleyball who makes him happy

nationals who are you gonna cheer for tho lmao 

i honestly think when kenma finds the right one he’ll stay with her 

like he doesn’t open up easily so when he knows he’s found the one he will absolutely feel more comfortable in opening up and being more vulnerable 

kenma wasn’t really bothered about love and relationships before 

but thanks to you he’s glad he stepped out his comfort zone

because besides the family he’s got in volleyball 

he also has you know 

and you’ve taught him a new form of love

The unknown made you nervous. You had never done this before and you were at one point thinking why you agreed to it in the first place. But Sonny and Rafael were right, you needed to stop having flings and settle for a little while. You had just moved into a new apartment not far from the station two apartment blocks from Sonny and Rafael and had just become a 3rd Grade Detective, so it was time for love. You wanted someone to come home too and to share a life with.  

Rafael and Sonny had been at you for a while to let them set you up with someone. They knew everything about you and said that they had a friend that was the perfect match for you, you racked your brains who it could be, you all being so close having the same group of friends in and out of work, you thought it must be someone at the DA’s office or at Fordham with Sonny.

You finally caved about 3 weeks ago when you went over to see Sonny and Rafael for dinner after they just got back from a trip to Cuba for their one year wedding anniversary for Sonny to finally meet the rest of Rafael’s extended family that couldn’t make their wedding.

As you walked into the restaurant you caught yourself in the mirror giving yourself the once over. Fixing your thigh high velvet heeled boots, pulling down your longed sleeved turtle neck black tight fitting dress and fixed your grey fur waist length vest and tucking your curled hair behind your left ear. You walked up to the smiling host stopping to stand beside them,

“Good evening Ms, do you have a reservation?”

“Hello, I do. Table for two under Barba-Carisi”

“Please follow me, the other party is already here” the host smiled at you walking in to the restaurant.

“Have they been waiting long?”

“Not at all” the host smiled over their shoulder “About 5 minutes”

As you walked through the restaurant you weren’t really sure why Sonny and Rafael picked such a fancy one for a blind date, it wasn’t somewhere that you could just get up and walk out if it wasn’t going to plan, they knew full well that you would have been happy with a slice of pizza and soda. Rafael and Sonny assured you over and over that you were going to like their friend and that they knew you would have no problems with him or want to leave.

As you walked through the full restaurant to the purple velvet booths along the side, you looked over the hosts shoulder catching a chocolate brown pair of eyes and big toothy grin that you were familiar with. Your eyes opened wide and your mouth dropped open in shock,

“Y/N” Nick stood up looking ever so handsome in a pair of navy pants and a light blue shirt tucked in, the first few buttons undone and sleeved rolled up.

“Enjoy your meal” the host looked between you both.

“Nick-what? Is this some prank?” you giggled as Nick lent over kissing you on the cheek hello hugging you around your middle.

“I hope not. If I had known they were going to set me up with you I would have agreed a long time ago. They have been at me for ages.”

You both laughed and Nick moved to sit down,

“Well yeah me too. They haven’t shut up about it.” you smiled as you slid into the booth sitting across from Nick.

You both sat there eyes locked smiling at each other,

“You look so beautiful Y/N” Nick grabbed your hand giving it a squeeze “you have no idea how happy I’ am that it’s you. They said I wouldn’t regret it if I said yes” Nick winked at you.

You squeezed his hand back, moving to interlock your fingers with his “You look so handsome Nick. I’ am over the moon it’s you. I was so nervous”

“You don’t need to be nervous with me babe” Nick rubbed his thumb over yours looking down at your lips and then back into your eyes.

“Ms Y/L/N, Mr Amaro” You both looked up, pulling your hands away from each other, as a waiter sat a bottle of your favourite wine in the middle of the table with two wine glasses, “This is complementary of Mr and Mr Barba-Carisi. They also asked if I could pass this on” The waiter handed you a folded piece of paper “Enjoy your night”

You opened the paper to Rafael’s hand writing on the personalised stationary you brought them when they got engaged,

Surprise, guess it’s not as blind as you think. You guys were taking too long to make a move, so we made it for you. We told you both you wouldn’t regret it. The bill will be taken care of, make sure you plan a second date. Amaro you can pay for that one!

You smiled wide your cheeks blushing red and you handed Nick the note watching as his face and eyes lit up, a big smile spread across his face shaking his head laughing folding the paper closed and sitting it on the table,

“As much as it pains me to say it, they are right” Nick shuffled around the table “Come closer Y/N” Nick patted the seat next to him. You done as he asked sliding over leaving a small gap between you both. Nick looked down at the gap you left and then looked up at you with a smirk “You can come closer, I don’t bite- on the first date anyway” You giggled and moved over, Nick putting his arm around you kissing your temple.

You turned your head, your nose almost resting on his. Nicks lips met yours, the kiss soft and just right, butterflies filling your belly.

“What if I like getting bitten” you said above a whisper resting your hand on his knee. You heard Nick growl his lips moving to your ear, his breath fanning down you neck sending a shiver down you spine.

“Then let’s make this quick and get back to mine.”

So how can you celebrate?

♃ Whip up Makoto’s favourite foods, meatloaf and cherry pie. Unlike some other fellow Sailor Guardians she’s not a picky eater and has no least-favourite food, so why not challenge yourself to try something new or revisit an ingredient you thought you hated? You never know, you might grow to love it!

♃ Makoto’s very self-reliant, and her hobbies reflect her practical nature, particularly as she had to look after herself from a young age after the deaths of both her parents in a plane crash. She’s also intentionally pursued hobbies considered traditionally “feminine” out of concern that her outward appearance and mannerisms don’t convey who she is inside.

Her most oft-portrayed hobby is cooking, which is both something that brings her personal satisfaction and a way for her to express her love for the people closest to her - she shares her lunch with strangers, serves her friends fruit sandwiches & tea when they meet at her apartment, and daydreams about giving a personalised boxed lunch (bento) to her sweetheart. She’s also a natural teacher, showing the gang how to make curry (which becomes the one dish Usagi can make) and cookies, and showing Motoki how to make hayashi rice (���hashed beef”). Why not host a little dinner party or pot luck for your friends, teach yourself a new recipe (or teach someone else a favourite recipe of your own), or simply celebrate food by patronising a small cafe/bakery like Makoto dreams of owning someday?

She’s also a demonstably skilled sewist, making anything from stuffed toys (apparently, her specialty is teddy bears), to knitting, to bespoke patterns for her class’s maid cafe stall at their high school festival. If you’re a beginner, why not start with some simple DIYs or by altering clothing you already own/thrift, and if you’re experienced, now is a good time to revisit that project you have lying half-finished in the back of your crafts cupboard you keep saying you’ll finish someday when you unpick that one bit I SEE you there.

Makoto loves flowers and has quite a green thumb, perhaps influenced by the Japanese element she draws her powers from - wood. She tends to the strawberry patch at their high school with great success, and though she is often associated with roses, her favourite flower is actually the sasanqua (a type of camellia). She loves flowers so much that she dreams of being a florist someday, a dream she actually achieves in the live action! Pick up a new plant from a local nursery, fill your house with flowers from an independent florist, or start your own produce garden in your back yard, flower pots, or a small indoor terrarium/windowsill. If you don’t have the means to tend to a garden of your own, why not look into seed bombing with plants native to your specific area to combat invasive plant species. Or simply visit your favourite nursery, arboreum, or public garden to surround yourself with nature!

For sports, Makoto is proficient in martial arts, specifically karate (in the original anime) and judo (in the manga and Crystal). She’s also shown to be naturally gifted at ice skating thanks to her past life as Princess Jupiter, since it was a popular sport in the Moon Kingdom, pulling off even very difficult moves like lifting her partner over her head. Check out some local martial arts classes in your area or take some friends to the ice rink! She also enjoyed, and was quite good at, ballroom dancing, so take your partner or a small blue gal pal to some dance lessons - just not ballet, which she can’t quite finesse.

♃ Dress like Makoto for the day! Particularly in the first season, Makoto stuck mostly to “tomboyish” fashions, again reflecting her practicality and sporty side, rarely daring to wear skirts or dresses. However, as the series went on we learned that she in fact admired traditionally “feminine” clothes but feared they wouldn’t suit her. With encouragement from her friends like Usagi and role-models like Haruka, later seasons saw her branch out into a secondary style, with a more mature, “womanly” edge than the young, girlish styles of her friends - though she still enjoyed her original “boyish” fits. Wardrobe staples include casual jackets/hoodies, cable knit sweaters, slacks, shorts, loafers, and sneakers, and later midi skirts, turtlenecks, and bodycon mini-dresses. She wore a lot of green in varying shades, but also orange, teal, and increasingly pink.

As Sailor Jupiter, her image colours were dark green and “sugar pink”, and she wore green ankle boots accented with bright white laces. Her most iconic accessories were her pink rose earrings which, unique amongst the Sailor Guardians, she wore both transformed and not, even throwing them once as a makeshift weapon. Her nails were painted apple/avocado green from her second transformation onwards. Her hair, which to the disbelief of her teachers was naturally curly, was usually worn in a high ponytail with a bobble hairtie (plain teal in the 90s anime, green with petal-like accents in the manga/Crystal/PGSM) and two locks falling over her ears, though she did sometimes swap the hairtie for a ribbon or scrunchie.

Makoto didn’t seem to wear much makeup but did wear cologne/perfume, almost certainly rosen/floral; in fact, it’s one of the first things Usagi notices about her when they meet. If you don’t already have your own signature scent, browse for some local indie perfumers to find something that speaks to you - or look up how to make your own!

♃ Makoto wears a belt of potpourri around her waist in the manga and live action, so you could try mixing a blend of your own dried flower petals and displaying it in a bowl or tucking it in sachets amongst your clothes. In addition to the obvious rose petals, consider including oak leaves or pine needles for an earthy, woodsy note.

Chapter Summary - Tom texts Danielle after the BAFTA Tea Party only to realise she is somewhat irked by a comment by the interviewer and when the world reacts to Tom's Golden Globe acceptance speech, Danielle becomes angered.

Tom: Did you watch the interview?

Danielle: Yes.

Tom: Elle, what's wrong?

Danielle: Nothing.

Tom: Elle, did I say something wrong?

Tom stared at the messages; she replied as soon as he had hit send and her one-word answers could only mean she was upset, so he pressed the call button. As soon as the ring was interrupted, he began. "Darling?"

"Who the hell asks people that?" Danielle snapped.

Tom frowned, "What?"

"Asking what sort of 'real job' you would have, as though acting isn't a job!" she replied indignantly. "I'm sorry, people getting up at four am and not getting to bed until the next day at noon is not actually work in some people's eyes."

Tom's eyes widened as he finally figured out the reason for his girlfriend's ranting. "So you are angered about that?"

"Obviously." Danielle snapped back as though it was the only logical answer.

"I was worried you were angry at me."

"Why would I be angry at you, you haven't done anything wrong?"

"I was wondering the same." Tom chuckled. "So other than wanting to tear the interviewer a new one for asking what you think is a condescending question…"

"It is a condescending question," Danielle growled back.

"Well, yes, you are correct darling, it is. But overall…?"

"I got a little confused a first, one moment you said formal education was essential in acting, but then you said it wasn't, I realised then you were arguing from a Devil's Advocate sort of point of view." She stated.

"Well yes, some of the best never had any training, but as I said, it opened me up to being able to do and understand things I would never have been able to otherwise." Tom's smile was obvious through the phone.

"You're very happy."

"I am, I love getting to talk to you about this and you always seem to understand; I miss being there with you and Mac though."

"We miss you too, no really, Mac was waiting for you to come down the stairs yesterday morning and is looking for you," Danielle explained.  

"And what about you?"

"It's weird here without you, I feel somewhat odd."

"You don't feel like it is home?"

"It's not home." Tom's heart sank. "You're not here."

"What?"

"It's easier and harder being here, the bed smells of you so I have your pillows right next to mine, I haven't stolen them, they are harder than mine are and I don’t want them to lose your smell, but it's hard because you aren't here. I woke today wondering what possessed you to go running in this weather."

Tom gave a sad laugh at hearing that. "I hate this hotel, I can see so much of LA, it was sunny and warm today, but I wish I was back in London, in the wet weather with you."

"Soon, you have that award to win first," Danielle smiled.

"You have too far too much faith in me."

"And you don't have enough in yourself."

"I wish you were here." "You were spotted at the airport." "I know." Tom sighed, knowing that that was all that had to be said for Danielle to justify not going with him. "Some day, if I grow a pair, I might be brave enough to try." "Elle, you are the bravest woman I know, you never let anything stop you." "Now who has too much faith in who?"

"You know it's true." "I am thinking of going to Suffolk for a day or two." "Really?" "Yeah, see your mum, organise a few things."

There was an upbeat tone to Danielle's voice at that. "That sounds nice." Tom could not match it.

"Tom?" it was Danielle's turn to sense something amiss. "What's wrong with me going to Suffolk?" "Are you not happy in London?" "I am actually, far more content than I…wait, you think I am doing a runner, don't you?"

"What?" "You think that I have decided London isn't working and as soon as your back is turned, I have run off and gone back to Suffolk, don't you?" "Well the timing is…why are you laughing?" Danielle had to force herself to be serious. "I really do forget you have stupid voices in your head that say stupid things to you too." She admitted as she thought lovingly about the actor. "I am not fleeing London, I just need to sort a few things and in truth, I miss Diana and want to spend time with her. I used to see her daily, now all I get is a phone call, that's not enough, I want to see more of her."

"She's my mum." "Are you getting possessive of her now, after five and a half years?" Danielle asked disbelievingly. "For the record, I was always possessive of her, she's my mum, but no, that's not what I meant. Most men have partners that are so put upon to simply spend an afternoon in their mother's company, you are actively sneaking there when I am out of the country." "Sneaking is hardly the correct term, I just told you outright what I am doing," Danielle laughed.

"Still." "We will go again when you come back, I just need to sort a few things." "What are you going for?" Tom's tone was light and curious, not suspicious, making Danielle smile. "I want to bring some more stuff here actually if that's okay?" "Wait, really?" "Yeah, clothes, books and I was going to ask if it was okay if I brought that coffee table for the living room?" Tom's eyes lit up, he was tired from travelling and the evening, but hearing that Danielle wanted to personalise the house more with her belongings gave him a new lease of energy. "I think it would look wonderful there, you don't mind?"

"Why would I mind, I am the one trying to change the place."

"Does your phone have face time?" "No, but my laptop does, why?" "I want to see you."

"You better hang up so," Tom did as he was told and a moment later, he noticed Danielle call him via her skype. "Hey handsome, is everything alright?" "Elle, I love you." "It's a coffee table?" she sounded almost concerned.

"I am just happy that we are doing this." "Getting a coffee table?"

Tom chuckled. "No, I know it is slightly fast, but I am glad we are doing what we are doing. I love you." "I happen to love you too you big dork, now, it is past midnight there, get some rest and I will talk to you later, okay?" "Yes, ma'am." "Don't get sassy with me." She warned. "Goodnight Tom, I can't wait until we are at the spa, you getting the comfort and treatment you deserve, having brought home your Golden Globe and we can just snuggle up together reading." "Technically, no. I went to bed, but couldn't sleep, so it made more sense to do something productive, so I had not planned to but I got a project done, or two." "Elle darling, you need your rest."

"I got some, a little. You can talk." She grinned back playfully.

"I know, but please, look after yourself, I want you to be healthy and happy." "I will be, when you come home." "I thought it was not home without me." "It's not, I am waiting for you to come back and make it home again." "As soon as I can, darling." "I love you, Tom." "I love you, Danielle."

"I will talk to you before the ceremony." "You had better, I cannot face it without talking to you first, goodnight, darling, or good day, or whatever." "Goodnight Tom, sweet dreams." *

Danielle was exhausted, she had driven to Suffolk late enough in the afternoon and spent until Tom's win with Diana talking and catching up, so when he won, she knew he would not be able to text/call for a time, so she went to bed, knowing it would be afternoon in England before he would ring, since she knew there would be an after party, so with her congratulations sent, she got some rest, feeling sorry for Tom for how he got so nervous when he was in stage and jumbled up his words somewhat. Smiling proudly at Tom getting recognition for his hard work, she closed her eyes and quickly fell asleep.

Danielle ran full speed, she leapt over a log and kept running, even as she began to breathe heavily. Mac ran alongside her, easily making his way through the woods in front of her inadvertently giving her a path to safely follow.

Danielle had woken thinking that Tom's win was great, she suspected a few people would mock his nervousness. She had not anticipated that people would call him conceited, narcissistic and egotistical. She was angry, upset and all around pissed off. Tom's first text back was one of elation, saying he loved her, cursing himself for getting nervous, thanking her for staying awake and saying he too could not wait to talk to her. The second one was not as upbeat, it was clearly after he had gotten word of what people were saying and it killed her a little inside. Tom was thick-skinned these days because of the industry toughening him up, but he had gotten nervous and said everything he wanted, just not as articulately as usual, and people were trying to piss on his achievement, not caring that it could ruin it for the actor, just as long as they got to ridicule someone. Because Tom was not just thanking himself and others in the series, because he had referenced something other than himself, they had to make it that he was bragging, because of course, no one could actually care about others like that, they have to be pushing a self-serving agenda in some people's books. It annoyed her so much that Danielle could only run to get herself to calm down, she had to wear herself out so that she could try and eat or rest.

When she finally got back to her car, she was exhausted, covered in mud and sweat and hardly able to breathe. Mac was beside her, equally destroyed and panting heavily, opening the boot, she pulled out a towel and knelt down to dry the dog off a little, the taste of metal in her mouth as she still gasped for breath. Mac sat, knowing well that she wanted, looking at her with interest. "I'm sorry," he just looked at her with large eyes. "I'm just so pissed off for Tom." He cocked his head slightly at Toms name. "No, I am not pissed off at him, just what the assholes are saying about him." Mac groaned. "Tell me about it, come on, we better get home." as soon as she said 'home' the dog jumped into the covered back seat of the car and lay down.  "Good boy," She went over to the driver's side and got in, taking a small drink before she started the engine and headed back to the house.

When she arrived back she was not shocked to see Tom had texted. She had sent one to him saying that she was going for a run and wouldn't have her phone and that she would text when she was home. His simple 'okay' in response told her his mood had not improved. Part of her wanted a shower, a larger part of her wanted to talk to Tom.

Danielle - I'm home, ring whenever suits you.

She pressed send and waited. She had not even untied her shoe laces when the phone rang. "Hey." she felt terrible. After a win of such magnitude, she knew her voice should not sound as it did.

"You have no idea how much I wish I was at home with you." Her heart broke hearing his tone and those words.

"I wish I was there with you." "What they said, you know I never…" "Tom, you were nervous, they are just trying to ridicule you because they are pissed you made their sanctimonious 'aren't I great' fest not about them for fifteen fucking seconds." Danielle found her anger rising as she felt Tom's despair at the night's events. "Don't let them take this from you, you worked so hard on it and it was brilliant, you know it. Do what you have to do there, come home and we will be back to just us for a while again before Kong, alright?" There was a moment or two of silence before Tom spoke again. "I love you, Danielle." "I know, I love you too." "When I get home…" "I am going to collect you from the airport, have your favourite dinner ready, we are going to put your hard-earned award up with the others, we will sit down and watch TV and we will not allow those buzzkills ruin this, then we will go on our weekend away and relax for ourselves." Though Tom's circle of truly close friends was small, that mattered more to him than most everything in the world, so them not liking her was Danielle's greatest fear.

Tom laughed at her joking. "I needed to talk to you." He commented.

"I know, I wish we were able to be together today, I want to be able to curl up with you and tell you how much you earned that and not to let them get to you." "Luke helped me with a statement, just outlining that I got tongue-tied and nervous." "You shouldn't have to, you know some of them don't care why it happened, they just want to ridicule you." "I know, but I don't want people who are actual fans thinking I am an asshole, I want to just explain it for myself, but also for those who are wondering." "That sounds idyllic. I better go and get ready for today's circus. I love you, Elle." "I love you too Mr Best Actor." She smiled, waiting for Tom to hang up before getting ready for a shower, hoping that his mood had been lifted slightly from talking to her.

Across the Atlantic, Tom looked at his phone and wished he was back in London, or perhaps Suffolk with Danielle, and not in LA. He wished he never came, or that she had come with him, but hearing her voice, he felt some bit better.

I’m regularly asked what Messenger marketing is, and exactly how it can benefit a business, so I’ve decided to write an article covering some of the main points, and showing you how you can get started today.

When marketing a business or product, your aim should be to target your customers across the platforms that they are most active with. Messenger marketing will allow businesses to engage with customers and leads in a more conversational way than traditional email marketing. This is giving businesses an opportunity to develop personalised relationships with their customers.

Messenger Is Quickly Becoming A Mainstream Channel For Businesses!

When email first came out, email marketing was born, everyone was sending emails and this was a perfect opportunity for businesses to communicate with their customers. The same happened when phones became common, telemarketing came out. Today, people communicate across Messenger apps and the popularity with this channel keeps on growing, year by year!

How to use Messenger marketing

There are a number of ways in which you can use Messenger marketing, but I tend to break the different methods into the following:

Lead generation: Lead generation is one of the biggest reasons why many businesses are adopting Messenger marketing. Build out a marketing funnel which uses Messenger as a warm way to introduce your business to your target audience. For example, let’s say you’re a restaurant that wants to drive new people down to your business…

You could boost a FaceBook post promoting a special offer to new customers. You can then setup a Chatbot to automatically respond to people who leave a comment on the post with a specific keyword. You then run both Messenger ads and post engagement ads driving people to leave comments, or click into your Messenger to claim that offer. Each time this happens, the page can automatically respond with the offer.

You then have this user subscribed to your Messenger marketing list. This means you can keep running promotional messages to this user from your chosen bot platform, without having to pay for ads. It’s the same process as running an email campaign to your email subscribers.

Content delivery:

The majority of sites send new content to users through people who have opted in through email, but this is now something that you can do through Messenger. You can ask your users to optin through Messenger to be delivered new content through their inboxes.

Most bot platforms allow you to connect an RSS feed with your site, so for each time you post, it’s delivered into their inbox automatically.

You can also offer your users to search for specific content, by adding in some categories to your Chatbot. Tech Crunch has a great example for doing this.

One of the best features with content delivery is that you can personalise the content that you deliver to your users. For example, adding tags to your Messenger subscribers will allow you to fire more personalised/desired content.

Customer support:

As well as being able to provide your subscribers with instant customer support, there are many other ways of being able to support your customers with Messenger marketing.

One of my favourite ways is to achieve valuable feedback from your customers. If you’re running an event, broadcast messages to your attenders asking for feedback on how well the event went. This method is often used in eCommerce, as you can ask your customers to leave reviews on the products that they’ve purchased.

You’ll also find a much higher feedback response through Messenger rather than email!

If you’ve got this far, then you may be considering a Messenger campaign. If that’s the case then I encourage you to continue with those thoughts! If you’re a little stuck, then here are some steps for launching your first Messenger marketing campaign:

Find a platform to build your Chatbot with. I’d recommend either ManyChat or ChatFuel. In these instructions I’ll talk about ManyChat. Create an account with them, and connect the bot to your page.

2. Create a post on FaceBook with a great offer. Think of something catchy that will instantly capture the attention of your audience. Tell them to comment a keyword which will enable them to claim their offer. The page will message those who comment with the relevant keyword. In this case I’ll use the keyword “interested”.

3. Go back to ManyChat, head over to the growth tools, click new growth tool and select the FaceBook comment tool.

4. Here’s where it may get tricky, I’ll write an in depth article about how to correctly set this up in a few days but, you basically want to select the post you have created with the offer in, and connect the comment tool. You want to setup the tool to only reply to users who have left a specific keyword in their comment. In this case, it’s for anyone who commented “interested”

You should see something that looks like this:

Make sure you’ve selected that checkbox below the “change post” button. Then click next.

5. Now create an opt in message. As your page is sending a message to someone who left a comment on your post, I always recommend putting something like:

“Hey Full Name! We’re messaging you because you left a comment on our recent post. Reply with “yes” to be sent the offer.”

When someone leaves a comment saying “yes” they become subscribed to your Messenger marketing list, because they’ve technically opted into your bot by leaving a reply.

6. When you reach the optin message section, you want to select “send only to users who reply with a specific keyword”. This is where you’ll enter the keyword “yes” in our case. You’ll then see a field which is your optin message.

Think of this as the response to the user, after they have replied with “yes”. For now, keep the default message in there, but remember what it’s called. You can then press save and activate.

Now whenever someone leaves a comment with “interested” and responds with “yes” the page will send across the offer, and also add the user to the pages Messenger subscriber list. Also, make sure that it’s set to active in the top left and not draft.

7. Now head to the flows tab. You should be able to see “optin messages”, click on this and select that optin message that you took note of before, when we setup the comment response. You need to click on this, and edit the flow.

Whatever text is inside of the flow will be what is sent to users who respond with “yes”. Once you’re finished with your message, click publish and now that response will be fired to the user once they have replied.

8. The very final step is to now boost that post you created earlier on. I’d recommend boosting it with the objective of post engagements, to drive the most comments for the budget that you have. Make sure you’re targeting the right people, and you’ll soon start seeing comments.

You’ve now created your first Messenger ad!

This can go really advanced, such as subscribing these users to a specific sequence, or adding tags to them so you know where the leads have come from. If you’re a restaurant then you could even fire up a second message asking when they’d like to book a table.. the possibilities are endless!

Rules: List 10 favorite characters from 10 different fandoms.

I’ll try to be brief, btw there is no particular order and they are sort of random. I have decided to choose from series and novels since you have more time to get to know them, So here you have some.

1. Let’s start with a villain, Hannibal Lecter portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen. I have some characters who are kind of similar but this time I’ll choose Hanni. He is smart, artistic, a good cook, a good dancer, he speaks several languages and he is elegant, the way he dresses is just *-*. He is a killer but also a softie, the way he falls in love just...He embodies perfection, as a god-like being but his vulnerability makes him so fascinating. Yes I hate him but yes, it’s impossible not to love him as a character. 

2. Olivier Mira Armstrong (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood), yes I don’t get tired of saying how much I like this character. The portrayal of a strong woman, a leader, a fighter, someone who does things her own way without giving a shit about men yet treating them as equals. Smart, strong, cold as ice and a true heroine.

3. Obviously, L from Death Note. Again an incredibly smart man but in this case, a weirdo. He can be cocky and suprise you with any skill. Also, he’s one of those intuitive characters I love and with an unavoidable destiny. 

4. Lina or Reena Inverse from Slayers. Such a defined personalisity for a female character. She is a free woman, brave, loves food and money (important to buy food obvs). She is determined and dramatic about little things.Love of my life.

5. Dean Winchester because he’s a big nerd, a fim lover and I love his sense of humour. 

6. There are many female characters from ‘’A Song of Ice and Fire’ that I would put in the list. However, today I will mention Brienne, oh my god. A warrior, an ugly woman according to standars, too tall, too strong, not a beautiful face but.. a woman, a person. She follows strong values, she doesn’t judge people, she has crushes and crushes people too (I’m hilarious). Then, her whole story with Jaime, OTP forever and ever.

7. Inuyasha, again, I have more than one of those tsunderes that are way too much for my kokoro in my favourite list. However, since Inuyasha was the first one, he deserves to be here. I started watching the anime when I  was a teenager and the TV signal of the channel where I watched it was terrible but I was in love. How he acts so cold yet he completely adores Kagome. Btw I haven’t mentioned two important things about my favourite characters, there are several mixed ones, whether they are from different nationalities or races like Inuyasha (half-demon) and the voice, the voice is so important and the voice of Inuyasha in Spanish. Ok, yes Inuyasha was a big big crush and still is.

8. Irma from W.I.T.C.H comics. By the way, I have to get the whole collection some day. I think that all the characters from these comics were very well-written and Irma was my favourite of all them, she was funny and akward, very natural, like a girl of her age. I love her.

9. Obviously, One Piece needs to be mentioned since it made a impression on me from an early age. I love Zoro but as I have already mentioned a tsundere. Let’s stick with Luffy, a truly fascinating character, a goodhearted dummie, brave, determined, one in a million.

10. Finally, Jane Eyre, I read the novel when I was in university and I had never found a character like her. written so many years ago, yet a truly feminist woman. I think it’s a book everyone should read, you will see things from a completely different perspective.

1. Which book has been on your shelves the longest? oh, god, I don’t know - my mom has always bought me books so probably something I got from her ages ago, couldn’t exactly tell you what

2. What is your current read, your last read and the book you’ll read next? Currently I’m reading “The Way of Kings” by Brandon Sanderson since we’re now reading it in my book club haha, it’s great actually, I recommend it to fantasy readers. Last read was, eh, “A Cottage By The Sea” by Carole Matthews (no comment) and next one will probably be either “Tower of Dawn” or “And then there were none”, both of which I got for christmas.

3. Which book does everyone like and you hated?  Does the Legend trilogy count? Not sure ‘everyone likes’ it, but I disliked it more than most people I’ve spoken to hah so that’ll have to do

4. Which book do you keep telling yourself you’ll read, but you probably won’t? Read first quarter of “Wolf Hall” last year for a school assignment and I keep telling myself I’m going to finish it, but it’s been so long that it looks like I won’t, heh. I actually liked it, but it was a heavy read, and I just haven’t been in the right mindset lately

5. Which book are you saving for “retirement?” all the intellectual classics I mean to read but never find the time/patience/courage for

6. Last page: read it first or wait till the end? confession: when I was young and dumb I occassionally used to read the last page if I wanted to find out if a certain character lived or something like that ... older and wiser me of course reads it last (unless it’s for a book I really, really don’t care about)

7. Acknowledgements: waste of ink and paper or interesting aside? depends on how they’re written - I love the more personalised ones, aspecially if it’s a book I really liked, when you get a glimpse of the author behind the text. Grrm thanking his wife with “I could not sing this song without her” still makes me want to cry

8. Which book character would you switch places with? asksjsf I never have a fun, creative answer for this type of question but ... uhm ... Ginny Weasley? I don’t have any brothers so it’d be fun to try that, and I’d obviously get to attend Hogwarts (and get possessed oops) plus great hair... and Harry’s kind of cute

9. Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life (a person, a place, a time)? Read “Desirée” when I was very young (11?) and it made a huge impression so when I went back and reread it this summer it took me back in an unexpected way. (11-year-old-me had good taste - I still loved it, but obviously read it in a different way now.)

10. Name a book you acquired in some interesting way. eh my old school library used to let you replace a book you had lost with a different book from home instead of giving you a fine, so like once or twice I said I “lost” a book I really wanted to keep and replaced it with something boring I had lying around. Can’t remember what books it were, though, and I’m not sure that’s very interesting haha but yes, I was a lowkey book thief as a child and am definitely going to hell

11. Have you ever given away a book for a special reason to a special person? gave my mom, Jane Austen’s no 1 fan, a beautiful copy of “Pride and Prejudice” since her old one was so worn down, is that special? lmao

12. Which book has been with you to the most places? probably something embarrassing, I have a solid stash of light-weight feel good-type books, so when going somewhere I usually take an equal number of “new”/unread books and old ones that I know will keep me entertained haha

13. Any “required reading” you hated in high school that wasn’t so bad ten years later? nah

14. What is the strangest item you’ve ever found in a book? Old, unusable money

15. Used or brand new? used, brand new makes me nervous eh

16. Stephen King: Literary genius or opiate of the masses? awkward, but I literally haven’t read a single King book, so I couldn’t tell you. Not a fan of the genre heh so the odds are stacked against him I’m afraid

17. Have you ever seen a movie you liked better than the book? when I was going to see the first Maze Runner movie with a friend I hastily tried to read the book the day before ... had to stop a few chapters in because I genuinely hated it, which is unusual for me. To be fair, it had been translated to swedish so not sure if that was to blame, but anyway - I enjoyed the movie a lot more. 

18. Conversely, which book should NEVER have been introduced to celluloid? The first "Chaos Walking” movie (the books are m a s t e r p i e c e s) isn’t out for another year but already I’m scared to death ... There are just so many story elements and moments that I feel will be untranslatable and I am so frightened it’ll be messed up. I wish they’d just have let it be one of the few ya triologies untouched by hollywood greed (bitter? me? never)

19. Have you ever read a book that’s made you hungry, cookbooks being excluded from this question? like @blueagia said: the first Harry Potter books ... Hogwarts feasts ... yep. Starving.

20. Who is the person whose book advice you’ll always take? I trust no one completely lmao but my sisters and mom usually know what I’ll like - and my book club, of course.
